About GLR Overhead

GLR (Glass Lined Reactor) overhead assemblies are

specialized, modular, borosilicate glass systems installed atop chemical reactors for distillation, condensation, and reflux processes under atmospheric or vacuum conditions. Designed for 500 Ltr to 10000 KL reactors, they feature a vapor column, condenser, reflux divider, receiver, and, for large scale, often a glass shell-and-tube heat exchanger.

Key Components of a GLR Overhead Assembly

Vapor Column: Packed or hollow, for separating vapors.
Condensers: Primary and secondary (vent) condensers, often coil or shell-and-tube type, to liquefy vapours.
Reflux/Distillation Unit: Controls the return of condensed material to the reactor or to the receiver.
Receivers: Flasks or tanks to collect products, often designed to maintain vacuum during emptying.
Structure: Adaptor plate, bellow with flange, piping, and support structures.
